Luís Freitas (Founder & CEO of Frames, ex-CTO of Bitte Protocol & Mintbase) has spent nearly a decade in crypto. His talk at the March Braga Blockchain meetup was an honest retrospective on why every major crypto cycle fell short, and why that might finally be changing.
ICOs. DeFi. NFTs. The metaverse. Each one was technically interesting. Each one was built for the wrong user. His argument: AI agents are the user crypto that was always waiting for. They don’t mind the complexity, the gas fees, or the clunkiness. That’s literally what they’re built for.
He also covers HTTP 402, a “Payment Required” status code defined in the 90’s and left unused for 28 years, and why it might finally make sense in a world where software is the buyer.
